“Since white strapless dresses became the standard for both debutantes and brides, Miss Manners fails to see any difference between them.1“
Miss Manners has spoken and Prom Guide agrees! Debutantes can often find their fashion inspiration for debutante dresses from bridal gowns. An abundance of white gowns can be found in bridal gowns housed in bridal salons, more so, than can be found in designer’s prom, pageant, and homecoming collections.
Debutante gowns tend be full-length, strapless, white ball gowns with a sweetheart neckline accessorized with opera-length gloves and a demure necklace such as pearls.
We’d like to offer some alternative debutante dress styles gleaned from the bridal collections of leading designers such as Bonny Bridal, Allure Bridals, Francissical, Jovani, Justin Alexander, Colby John, Lore Fashions, Mori Lee, Lo Adoro, House of Wu, and Mon Cheri. This is a very modern take on take on necklines that we would love to see make an entrance at a debutante ball.
